On the 4th of July we had our annual Independence Day picnic outdoors. We have a very large convenient patio which is easily accessible to all the Residents. By Noon it was warm but the pergola we have, the huge umbrella’s and the fans connected to the pergola made it very comfortable for the Residents. They had the traditional, hot dogs, hamburgers, etc. Most came in as the weather got hotter but a few stayed outdoors all afternoon.
Another summer picnic was planned for July 8. SUNY Maritime College is five minutes from us and overlooks the Long Island Sound. It’s a lovely place and they let us come with the Residents for a picnic. Sr. Charles Patricia brought her guitar and she had sing-alongs with the Residents. A great summer event!
