Association Jeanne Jugan
Approved by the church on September 5, 1998, the Association Jeanne Jugan is a work proper to the Congregation of the Little Sisters of the Poor, created with the purpose of enabling lay people to share the apostolic riches of the Congregation and of helping to spread the charism of Jeanne Jugan.
The Jeanne Jugan Associates live its spirit, which is the evangelical spirit of the beatitudes. They share in the charism of the foundress of the Little Sisters of the Poor, a charism distinguished by its simplicity: recognizing Jesus in the elderly poor.
Consequently, they commit themselves: to give greater vitality to their faith, to be witnesses of a profound Christian life, to witness to the “Gospel of life.”
Lend a helping hand and volunteer
With the support of our volunteer network, the Little Sisters of the Poor can fulfill our mission of loving service to the elderly. Volunteers are a vital part of our Home. Residents, Little Sisters and all at Jeanne Jugan Residence appreciate the contributions made by volunteers, whether the activity is friendly visiting, escorting Residents to daily Mass, assisting in the dining room or kitchen, gardening, working in the arts and crafts or activity program, driving or accompanying Residents to appointments, working in the laundry and linen room, housekeeping, maintenance, general office work, chapel maintenance, receptionist, or beautician, volunteering at Jeanne Jugan Residence is very rewarding. It is also a chance to give back to those who gave so much to us.

”My husband and I both volunteer at the Home for quite a few years now. Involvement here gives you a wonderful sense of accomplishment as you join in helping the Little Sisters of the Poor in their mission. The environment is warm, friendly and caring. You couldn’t find a better place to volunteer. So, if you’re thinking of volunteering, please think Jeanne Jugan!
